Is the heifer you speak of the one that is in your avatar? If that is her,and even if it's not,I would use the new halfblood everyone is gogga [including me] about,...GRIZZLY. He has everything you want in a bull,and he can be used on heifers. He may replace alot of the other halfbloods that folks have been using,such as SOS and Maximus.He gives you that shot of maine for hair,he is good muscled,sound,and has good maternal strength.We will be using him on ALL first calf heifers [Angus and Maines] except for the Shorthorns...Good Luck

not personally a big fan of grizzly calves had a few last year and they were really no better than our angus calves

I was also going to suggest Grizzly.

mostly simmi/angus heifers. One was a Macho/6807 another was a Radar/angus and the rest were commercial angus

My knee jerk is too stick with consistent calving ease bulls. Dream On is one of the calving ease sires for Simmi folks. She looks like she has some leg to her from the pic, you could use any OCC bull to add some depth of body. Legend, Missing Link, SS Traveler T510 . Simmi 3C Sturdy, Hooks Shear Force, Built Right, DJ Salution, Hustler to name a few.
Get a calf out of her and then start playing.
I haven't seen any Grizzly's in our neck of the woods. Can't comment on him.
