Didn't know if anyone else had a chance to attend the Hereford sale in Denver but it was fantastic. Not only were the cattle great, and the prices outstanding, but the atmosphere was amazing. They had the sale in the Stadium showring (I was told that this is how they used to do it), and it was a packed house. I received an email from NWSS saying that they figured there was 1,500 people in attendance.

I videoed one of the bulls, that we bought a semen interest in, selling. It gives you an idea of how many people were there.

My husband wrote a blog post about it and some of the other Hereford events. http://jjbcattlecompany.com/denver-blog-1-what-a-trip

That was the Perks' bull I believe.  Congrats on your share of him!  Our family have known the Perks' since they started in the horse and cattle and we were tickled Doug had such  a good sale.  They are a first rate bunch and open there place up to us whenever we are near them for a  show.  Glad they got a good price and hope he does the job!

That is a good picture and I don't want to take away from it but from someone who was at the sale it can't capture the volume of people or the energy that this sale had. What an amazing event. I am very happy that I was there to see what the purebred industry can do and has throughout history. This sale was the type of thing we hear about from the past and I can only hope it is what we all continue too see in the future. Functional cattle paired with industry excitement.

Yup, that is the bull. We have bought some cattle from Perks over the past two year and have been really happy. Wade and my husband went to college together and grew up doing the Hereford junior thing. We are stopping there on Monday to check out their bull pen. Still needing a walking calving ease sire this year.

And Stumpy I agree with you. It's pretty hard to put that kind of excitement and energy into words. The "old guys" said that it was just like Denver use to be. Pretty cool to be apart of it.
