(angel)  OMG....it is snowing!  It started about 30 minutes ago and is coming down pretty hard, just not really sticking to the ground.  Now it has me wishfully hoping for a "White Christmas"!!  Lisa

;D  Nope, and my silly daughter who just got over being sick wanted to go out and "play" in it after school.  I told her to get her rear end back in the house!!

It is finally perfect for growing hair now! I am just south of houston. I was giving baths last night in shorts and a tshirt and today I gave a bath in a long sleaved shirt, hoodie and a carhart and I was still cold, and of coarse it was snowing...only in texas. BTW I am new here, and I really like this forum so far!!

We better in joy it while we can (clapping); because we will be in shorts and tee shirt tomorrow afternoon 60°. I know to the people up north this is no big deal; but it sure gets me in to the Christmas Spirit.

It's snowing in ND right now too. It's currently -6 degrees and we've had about 6 inches of snow. The forecast is for 40mph winds tomorrow and a high of -5 with a low of -22. Combine that with the wind and you're looking at a windchill of around -40+. The state is basically shut down for a blizzard warning right now. But it's great for growing hair :)

It is -44 C here this morning with the wind chill, which is quite close to -44 F. At -40 both Celcius and Fahrenheit are the same. It really doesn't matter when it is this cold... it is just really cold!!

All I can do, in this weather, is make sure the cattle and horses have lots of feed in front of them, lots of straw to bury into, and make sure the water bowls are all thawed.

I have to think of the bright side of this....
    - there are no bugs to bother the livestock and me
    - I am not tempted to do some odd jobs that I intended to get done before winter arrived
      - I can't think of anything more on the bright side. Quite frankly, this weather sucks swamp water!!

I guess I should be thankful I am not a cow!

wow, we're supposed to get almost to 50 today but w/ wind chill it will be more like 26. I just can't imagine being that cold JIT!

I'm also wondering about my sister who live in CT & the ice there.

Bundle up all of you!

This weather we have now is a real shock to the system, when two weeks ago today, we loaded the trailers to come home from Can Western Agribition.... in our shirt sleeves. It has been slowly getting a little cooler since then, but yesterday the temperature dropped like a rock. It is one nasty day out there... but I just went out and checked all the cattle, and i am surprised that most are out eating at the hay feeders.... and surprise.. surprise... all the water bowls are open ... Yet!  The day isn't over though!

I just got back in as well. Our bedding is pretty much toast right now. I'm waiting for the wind and snow to stop so I don't waste any more straw then needed. All the waterers were open except for one, and I just had to punch through that one with a shovel and now it's fine. Right now we're at -15F with a 30mph wind blowing, tonight's supposed to be the cold one though, forecasted to -25. We ended up with 8 inches of snow, so you can imagine how pleasant that is with a 30mph wind.

The best part of this whole thing, my wife is on the phone right now calling parents to see if they should cancel their Christmas program for this afternoon, and they're actually thinking about having it. Gotta love that ND spirit!

It's 14 here now with a negative windchill so we've had several climates here today.
