Reached the point that we have more black and blue than red...finally convinced the hubs it was time to go back to a Shorthorn bull so we are looking for one this spring and I’m pretty excited about it!  My purebreds are getting some age on them!  I did purchase some heifers from E6 and Winters Show Cattle here off steerplanet and excited to get them in production too!!!

I’ve said it for years she has the best cows nobody knows about! Those blues are awesome. Excited to hear you guys are getting a shorthorn bull again.

F1 isn’t a mongrel. She had an awesome angus bull for a few years that was thick as a brick. She has a Maine bull now I believe. We bought some steers off her a few years back and I could t believe how steep the hill was her hubby had mowed. Different country that’s for sure. Those steers did real well.

You are right-If I could find the pictures of the original cows: they were out of  big maternal Shorthorns and sired by terminal deals like Gizmos Image, Double Vision, Double Trouble etc-Then she used proud jazz and later Major Leroy, After that was a that cool looking Red Maine Bead Davis eventually bought-Followed by black Maines and Angus O0

thanks CAB!  The cabin is the hubs hunting cabin/dog house or guest house all rolled into one.  Sits in the middle of the farm.  It's only about 20 yrs old.  The lady we bought the farm from used to lease hunting rights out on the farm and this is where the guys stayed.
