Seems like once a year I will see a Shorthorn bull advertised as dna homo polled tested. I assume there is either a test or this is false advertising. Or is there a test that is not recognized.......or something?

Breed the bull to 25 longhorn cows.  That will tell you.  I realize that you are talking about a DNA test.

We use GeneSeek for our Genomic testing and they have a test for horned/polled

I wouldn't see why there wouldn't be a DNA test for Shorthorns if there are DNA tests for many multiple other breeds out there that produce both horned and polled cattle.

the polled gene is at the end of a chromosome and highly mutable.  there are many alleles, that's why some tests work in one breed and not another.

shorthorn may have it's own mutation/s.
