Just thought I would put the word out for anyone interested, that we will be having our 4th online embryo and flush sale from Friday Feb 3rd to Monday Feb 6th. Bidding will close at 9 PM CST on Monday Feb 6th. The sale will be hosted at www.edjeauctions.com and we are hoping to have the complete sale offering on the sale site for at least 10 days prior to the start of the sale. We will be offering approximately 100 grade 1 embryos from over 350 in our inventory as well as some flushes from some of our best donors, and a few select lots of semen from some great sires of the past.

Some of the things that makes this sale unique are:

- many embryos will be completely outcross genetics to many of today's bloodlines. This is a great way to invest in some fresh genetics for your herd at reasonable investment costs
- our guarantee is second to none. We guarantee the buyer will have a minimum of 50% pregnancy rate at 70 days post implantation, providing an experienced embryo technician is used.
- we offer shipping assistance on your embryo purchases. We will pay all export and shipping costs to a maximum of $50/ embryo.

You will be able to view the sale offering at www.edjeauctions.com. In order to bid in the sale you will need to register for a bidding number and it would be aoppreciated if this is done before the beginning of the sale. Getting a bidders number does not mean you have to bid, but it does provide an opportunity for you to do so, if you see something selling at a reasonable price. Bidders do not have to be online during the entire sale. They will be able to place a maximum bid and the program will ensure that your bid is the high bid until the maximum is reached. The bidder is the ONLY person who knows what this maximum bid is, so there is no chance of your bid being run by anyone.

In our 2011 online sale we sold embryos to 4 countires and started 4 new Shorthorn herds in 3 countries, ant very reasonable prices. I hope you will take the time to look over our sale offering once it is posted on the sale site and you can also visit our website to get more informatuion on our donors and our breeding program. Our website is also being redesigned and we plan to have it completed prior to the sale as well. The webskite is www.horseshoecreekfarms.com

Is your guarantee good with any experienced embryo technician?  Or do they have to be "certified" like alot of sales state?  A couple of my local DVMs do embryo work very successfully but, neither are certified.

\Our guarantee is good for any experienced technician... anyone who has experience with implanting embryos and has a respectable pregnancy record. It doesn't have to be a DVM for our guarantee to be good. I just ask our buyers to make sure theri breed association allows for ET calves to be registered if they have been implanted by someone who is not a vet. Some breeds have such rules... others don't. Yes, I'm probably gambling somewhat, but I would rather provide this guarantee  so that buyers who have purchased our genetics can be assured of getting something for their investment. Because we offer a minimum pregnancy rate of 50 % at 70 days, we sell our embryos in groups of 2 or 4. ( it is pretty hard to figure out if there was a 50% preg rate on odd numbers of embryos. Also, this guarantee is good on the number of embryos purchased. For example, if you purchase 2 embryos from one flush, we guarantee you will get a monimum of 1 pregnancy at 70 days. If you purchase 10 embryos from a number of flushes, we guarantee you will have a minimum of 5 pregnancies at 70 days. If you purhased 6 embryos, and implanted 3 and only have 1 pregnancy, we will wait to see what you get when the other 3 embryos are implanted. Once all the embryos have been implanted, and if you get less than 3 pregnancies ( in this example) our guarantee comes into affect.
We have been very fortunate in that we have sold over 1000 embryos and have replaced a total of 6 embryos so far.

JIT... I really like your new website!

I have a question about Hall Haven Sonny Sue 6N x, I was looking through some of the genetics and on her page it lists her sire as HC Goldstar 93G x, then in the description talks about Sonny. I thought I remembered her being out of Sonny?

Also, I noticed that you had an embryo from her and Captain Mark, but only 1. Have you implanted many of that mating? Do you happen to have any pictures of calves from that pairing, or remember how they looked?

We have a dottie 12h x sonny heifer that we are planning on breeding with Captain Mark in a couple years.

Thanks for pointing out this error!  That is how proof reading goes, as my wife and I both missed this mistake. Chris mistakenly put the pedigree of HC Melba Niam 67J on the website for Sonny Sue's. It should be corrected now.

You are correct in that Sonny Sue is sired by WHR Sonny . I have 1 Captain Mark 27C X Sonny Sue ET calf due this March. We have sold the other embryos from this flush to the US, Scotland and England. There is only 1 embryo left now, but I hope to flush herto 27C again after she calves this spring. She will also get flushed to Suoer Flag and Shady Lane Rockstar 9X.

I was looking through an old Shorthorn Country the other night and I came across the Pheasant Creek advertisement.  Pictured were 4 Pheasant Creek Leader bulls, including the 4th that you have used successfully.  I also liked the white Pheasant Creek Leader bull very well, perhaps the best of the bunch to me.  I also saw a picture of Kinnaber Mr. Theiman that looked outstanding.  Those bulls appeared to be the type that would work very well today.  Looking forward to seeing the embryo offering.

HC FL Elsie's J-Lo 3T calved this morning and had a real nice Pioneer bull calf. Beautiful roan and thick!  Polled of course as Pioneer was homozygous polled. BW 82 lbs.  Hope all the calves this year are as lively as this guy is. Within an hour of being born he was hopping and bucking around the pen. We are selling embryos from this same mating in the Frozen in Time sale which starts Feb 3 and goes to 8 PM CST Monday feb 6th

Right now it's pretty much the same.
Here is link to a currency exchange site with up to date info. Of course the banks always charge a couple of % for the service of converting the funds

I just checked with my bank and they said the Canadian dollar has been bouncing on each side of the US dollar for the last couple of days. If it is fairly close I will issue the invoices in US dollars to any US buyers, as it will be much easier to make settlement. I definitely will adjust any invoices so that the buyer gets any benefit from the exchange difference. When I phoned the bank they said the rate at the present time was 1.0015 in favor of the Canadian dollar over the American. I will be checking it before the end of the sale and make any adjustments required, but rest assured, I will make it work in yoru favor if I can.
