-15 this morning.  Didn't feel to bad.  All the water working. The kids and I ran a set of cows thru the chute for their scour vac.

Must have sunk in by tonight.  Had 2 drinkers froze up.

Did you know that at -7F the mountains are bright blue and in the amount of time it takes to thaw the last drinker the can gets cold enough to freeze to your lip?

Stay warm! XXCC says warmth is on the way.  Hope their right.  First calves due on the 18th.

It's so cold that I'd don't care how goofy I look, I still bought this hat!  <rock>

-35 here yesterday morning. Was up to -23 this morning, but with a strong SE wind, which made it feel much colder than yesterday. We had a young lady from Australia here today to see our cattle. I suggested to her that either she was very stupid to want to stand out in pens and look at cattle until she could not feel our fingers and toes... or I was the stupid one for actually agreeing to show her the cattle in this weather. What is really amazing is the cattle didn't seem to be bothered by the weather. The bred heifers were running and kicking their heels up across a 20 acre pasture. Many of the cows were standing out directly in the wind happily chewing their cuds.

Our long range weather looks similar to this for a few more days and then it is supposed to head much above normal and actually be melting by mid January when I head to Denver. Hope they got it right this time, as I am already tired of winter. I  think being the weather man is the best job on the planet. Can anyone think of any other occupation where you can be wrong all the time, and still keep getting a pay cheque?

It was so cold that... Richard Simmons started wearing pants!( Speaking of Richard Simmons.. I had the pleasure of sitting beside him on a flight from Detriot to Chicago a few years ago. It was the longest short flight I have ever been on!  If I ever see another little old fat woman come screaming done the isle towards where I am sitting again... it will be far too soon!! I lost a lot of faith in the human race that day!)

I was talking to a friend the other day about how cold it is, I had on a hat that doesn't look real good but it is warm.  His comment was "Well my dad always said anyone thats worried about what they look like just isn't cold enough."  I think you have found that point where you are cold enough not to care RSC. ;)  I also think I would have had to jump out of the plane before I sat by Richard Simmons!

Oh, I don't know, I think JIT and Richard Simmons would make quite a pair!!!    I hope if the weather gets warm in Denver that we don't see any striped shorts though!!

You could have been sitting next to Tony wearing his hat and everyone would have been running the other way!!  Ha, Ha!!

Gotta admit I wouldn't win any fashion show either if--especially dressed like I was this morning trying to get my tractor started.  Everything with a motor seemed to have a problem today!!!
