I need help, I have a steer that I am going to show at fair this year and he keeps going sideways when I work with him what should I do?

Do you mean like, when you set him up he sidles over?

Okay my steer last year did the same thing. Do you have a chute? Like a fitting chute. If you do, you can start tying him up in that, then you can go out and practice. make him stand there for ten seconds. if he moves, make a loop and start over. once he does it, pet him up, give him a treat or something. then do that a couple times. then the next day do it for 20-30 seconds and just keep moving up. work on his endurance. there are a lot of YT vids about working on that. it takes a lot of patience but you will get there! are you coming to the show in Pomeroy Wa, on April 5th? it is just below Lewiston Id. Basically Idaho.
