Ooh, how cute and strong looking.  Mom looks like she's got a good udder and plenty of milk!  Just wondering, since I'm not a Shorty person, might the calf roan as he matures?

those jpj calves just have the look. looked at a yearling bull recently that was that same kinda red color and he had the same look too. are you gonna keep him a bull or show him as a steer?

he was a healthy 89 lbs...

this is the cows third calf...she is absolutely the best mother...and her milk just gets better every year...

not sure about the coloring dori...sure hope so...

here's a couple more pics i just took...my little one loves him...she wants to call him popsicle...that will probably be his barn name, but not his registered name, lol....he will stay a bull as long as we have him...lindsays not old enough yet for the steer thing...was really hoping for a heifer as we are trying to build our herd back up again...have another jpj that was due yesterday, hopefully it will drop tonight...will post pics when it gets here...

Nice calf!!  I'm waiting on aJPJ calf right now too.  I bought a 10 Queens heifer on Hagie's sale last fall and I'm watching her on the "Barn Channel" right now.    Looks like she should calve within the next 24 hours or so.

Good Luck with your entire calf crop. Looks like its off to a good start!!
