I ran 70% AI'ing, which is up from 50% last year. The 6 I did twice (either AM & PM or PM & AM) I got 5 to stick. Which to me, says breeding twice DOES work. I used the 12 hour rule....standing in morning (before noon) breed at night, and vice versa.

My purebred semen (on older bulls - both RA,BA, and Shorties) conception was far better than my "clubbie bulls".

AI'ing in a thunderstorm with wind/rain so hard you can't see the shed, actually is the best time to AI.
Doing the "swim spermy swim" song and dance must have some effect, as they generally stuck.

Embryos: Well, lets just hope the few I get are DAMN good ones......

Oh I forgot:

Some cows you can literally throw semen at and they will stick

Some cows you can be perfect on, and, well, they just like the real thing!!! (I bred a cow at three different times, and for 4 years in a row, and still no AI baby. But she will stick with a bull the first time around!!)

We purchased a bull from a local breeder and they took semen from him. The semen company that they use puts 3X's the amount of sperm into one straw that the clubby bulls have. That may be why more stuck
