Did anyone hear how many animals were actually in the show??  If I counted right, there were over 135 heifers in the commercial breeding division alone.

How did the calves do your boys sold?

Jill

Well actually most of them dont live in Iowa- here are the ones that do ( the simmi we sold has a bad case of ringworm-didnt show / the black Hannable x Mojo young heifer showed in the
commercial class - she looked awesome, showed good, young gal that owns her did a good job as she can be a handful- got 4th out of 16 in her class the judge really liked her thought she was a little narrow in the chest), the Iowa steer we sold was not brought to the expo (but he looks good)- the red wildside heifer was also not taken to the expo (not sure why on her)-
thats the only ones in Iowa the rest of the heifers are in colorado, Indiania, Illinois and south dakota and wyoming- the rest of the steers are sold to Texas.  I would like to have seen all of them show up at the expo but we cant control that.  The simmi would have done pretty good, the blue roan we sold would have done great- Id like to think the wildside would have held her own.
But thanks for asking.  We are just glad we actuallly have some out there showing no matter where they are, that is the goal.  Its hard when you are only 21 and just starting out selling cattle.  Oh I forgot that another wildside is here in Iowa (duh) she is going to tipton I believe- another steer winston is in Maryland (they said he looks really nice) and also have the who made who x hostage she is in Iowa (gonna show in our county fair probably no where else) .
