For all those people who thought Georgia Tech's Spread offense would give Iowa trouble: I guess it just wasn't that effective!!!  Better luck next time!!!
It wasn't even a competitive game. But that being said, I think it was a hard fought, clean played game the whole way through.

Congrats to the Hawks!!!!  And  Coach Ferenz: You are one of a kind, and Iowa should do whatever it takes to keep you!!!!  In Kirk I trust!!!!!

Well the second half looked pretty competitive there for a while!!  Anyway, Go Hawks---excellent season!!

Big Ten kind of surprised everyone during the bowl season as well==Penn State, Wisconsin, Ohio State, and Iowa all won their bowl games.

Yeah, being a Buckeyes guy i am glad to see the Big Ten represented well, it would of been nice if Northwestern wouldn't of screwed there game up. So the big question now, who is going to win tomorrow tide or texas? I think it will be a good game that could really go either way but i'm putting my vote down for the Tide's d to stop the Horns and come out on top.

It was fun to watch the Hawkeye O lineman work. GT was not a good come from behind team, no passing game.
Jen what are we going to do about the Hawkeye BB team? I think that even Ne. could beat them boys!!! That's not good.

The Iowa BB team: At half time, I thought to myself "How sad, the football team almost outscored the bb team at half!"
I think Licklighter is a good coach, he has had a string of "Weanies, and dumbies" who had to leave and go back to momma, or was too dumb to keep their grades up and had to go back to a community college. I also think he runs a tight ship as far as discipline, (I support his descision to indefinately suspend Tucker for his SECOND drunk arrest). Once he gets his recruits in place, I think things will change. Instead of bb, I am concentrating on wrestling! Iowa seems unbeatable!

Way to go Hawks.  After listening to ESPN, Sport Illustrated, and even a few Iowa homers predict Georgia Tech, I thought to myself - Have they seen our defense play?  Georgia Tech may have moved the ball some in the 2nd half.  That's pretty typical of a Norm Parker coached defense.  Opponents can move the ball between the 20s.  When it comes time to shut it down though, we generally do a pretty good job.  Take away the TD that we spotted them and their high powered offense only produced one TD.  There aren't too many defenses across the country that could have shut their offense down to a TD.  The frustrating part to me was that we dominated that 1st half entirely (Offensively and Defensively) and should have had a few more scores to show for it.  They need to iron out our offensive woes in the offseason.  The nucleus of this team will remain together and hopefully make a Nat'l title run next year.

Also, it was very sweet to see the Big 10 do well in bowl play.  I was so sick of hearing this entire year how the Big 10 was too slow or their offenses weren't high powered enough to keep up with the SEC, ACC, Big 12, and Pac 10.  Maybe just maybe with this showing we won't have to hear that all year long next year.  <beer>

Was nice to see the Big Ten make that progress. I just wish they would have had more direct match ups with the SEC this year. OSU gets a PAC 10 team, IA gets an ACC team, and PSU plays LSU in ridiculous conditions, plus Florida gets a Big East ::) ::) ::) (how do they get a BCS bid) team so the SEC will still think they have a leg up. Oh well

My favorite play of that game was with like 5 min left when Stanzi totally outran that DE in a foot race to the 1st down. That guy was the defensive player of the year in the ACC and he could not run down a Big 10 QB. I think that shows that the conference has progressed, and the whole Big 10 is too slow thing is over played. BTW I think Thaddeus Gibson would've caught him  ;) Go Bucks

I am a big iowa fan and was a little worried about GT speed and the triple option but that defense plays their positions and are excellent tacklers.  Doesnt hurt that Adrian Clayborn has become a stud at defensive end.  Sure glad he is coming back next year.  And you are right GT can not come back that guy is terrible at passing.
Was a little nervous couple times in the came when a fumble on the first pass play.  Int for a touchdown.  GT had one good quarter in the third otherwise they couldnt move the ball and the offense only scored one touchdown.
I personally thought it was great when Wegher the running back had those big runs and scored that 30 yard touchdown run.  His cousins have purchased calves from one was third at iowa state fair this past year.  Wegher is a true freshman from sioux city iowa.

Next year they should be good just have to replace a few linebackers and offensive line.

As far as basketball getting to the point it is tough to watch.  They need some point gaurds that can handle the ball and penetrate and the ones they have now will never be able to.  Maybe a long season as everyone knows pressure iowa's guards and they are done.

FWIW I picked Iowa to beat GT. The ACC just doesn't stack up from top to bottom like some of the other BCS Conferences. FL just flat embarrassed a Cincy team that some said should be playing tomorrow night. I really don't think TX will beat Bama tomorrow - too much D.

I have a hard time believing anyone who really knows football would pick Ga Tech to beat any bowl team outside the ACC. But good for the Hawkeyes.

Funny thing: My brother is a HUGE Hawk fan (older brother - big pessimist) The last text message I sent him said "Take a big breath. Iowa wins by 10."    Geesh, where is Vegas when you need it?

The Big Ten is better than most, what everyone is forgetting is that Big 10 is PHYSICAL football. Its rough. You get ref's from those "pansy conferences" (relax, don't get your panties in a wad) with all that speed and their fingers turn yellow from throwing the flag so much. Luckily that didn't happen to the Hawks.

As far as the national Champ game, heck, as far as I am concerned, it was played last night, with the National Coach of the Year coaching the winning team!!!!

"I have a hard time believing anyone who really knows football would pick Ga Tech to beat any bowl team outside the ACC. But good for the Hawkeyes".....Gonewest.

Gonewest hit her on the head.  The ACC was pretty week this year.  Iowa got a nice win, but in reality, didn't beat a top tier team.

The option game that Georgia Tech runs is so slow developing....the premier options from days gone by were all about speed and getting to holes quickly.  Nesbitt gets there in slow motion.

Iowa does have a stout defense, but a one dimensional team can't test that.

I say anyone in the top 15 to 20 could be competive against each other this year; no clear cut favorites....

Being a husker, sure wish we could play Alabama or Boise....would like our chances.  Imagine Iowa would like to try them too.

BOISE?? SCOTT!!

TCU and Boise STILL haven't played anyone. Cincy?  PUUUUUULEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZ. These three teams shouldn't be ranked in the top 50.I don't care how many games they won vs the third grade all stars.
