I am looking for a heifer calf that is a purebred Maine Anjou or almost and is priced between 1,000 to 1,300. It needs to been born by February or March. This calf would be a calf for next year for me to show at a county show and some open shows. I am new at showing and looking for a Maine anjou calf to show to get my showing career started out fairly good. Please help me out please. Thanks for your help. I would like it if possible to be reg. I will keep all of you in mind about your cattle, we are going to sales first before we buy anything on steerplanet. Thanks.

I think I have responded to some of your posts before, suggesting some Maine and Shorthorn breeders to you. I'm afraid you won't get too much response because of your financial limitation. Most people who raise registered cattle that are good enough to show can get considerably more than you are willing or capable of spending. It might not seem fair but it is truthful. I know there are exceptions to every rule, but they are few and far between. Do you want a fullblood? 3/4 1/2 5/8 3/8ths or what? most people that have money constraints want a 2500.00 heifer for 1200.00. That don't happen very often any more because of supply and demand. On the other hand there are calves that should go to the sale barn that some will keep around for a while to see if they can pawn one for your price range. Be careful who you deal with.

I'm just south of Mt. Ayr Iowa... message me I have some maine heifers that may work for you.  They aren't Denver winners, but they will make nice county fair calves and the heifers will make great cows later for you.
