This is our January heifer I said I would post pics of...she got really really rough clipped today, probably took two inches of body hair off her..she was a wooly beast!  She's not close to being done with her clipping yet, but I think she looks pretty decent.  I know she's a bit tight in her heart, but other than that, is she any good?

Hey Justin, I like her. she looks like she has a lot of bone & I think she has enough rib. Maybe clean the neck up a little. She looks like she's a little on the green side still, she will probably keep on coming. How's she bred?

Just a couple things I'd change about her is more length from hooks to pins, a stronger top, and more muscle in her rear quarter. She might be straight on her rear two as well. She certainly does have a nice body, might be a little rough through the shoulders, but I don't think that's too bad and it could be the clip job?

She is still pretty green, but she's come a long way...I'll attach a pic of what she looked like 6 days after we got her.  She's a DF Cruiser (Trump/Orange Girl) x JA Go Girl (Sutherland)...She's gonna get a neck sweat starting this spring.  We've been feeding her really slowly...I HATE fat prospect calves.  We're gonna start bumping up her feed now, and she should catch the calves that went to NAILE by NWSS...she is one THICK heifer..with a ton of hair...probably has 3 inches of it on her legs, but she has good bone too.  She looked a lot better when dad was walking and setting her up at first than when we took the pics..it was a spur of the moment thing..  She is starting to remind me of the Solution-bred cattle with her growth pattern and body type. I think we're gonna take her to Badger Kick Off if we get her papers by the time we pull out of the driveway....here's her September pic :

Justin,
First man you should have come over this way. The bred heifer show this evening at the Heart of It All was like a mini NAILE. WOW quality was high high.

Your heifer looks 100% better since you have put her on your program. Really like her picture now. Hair does wonder for adding volume. I think as soggy made as she looks now her neck kind of goes with the rest of her. I don't think she is too straight at all. She looks stout from your picture and looks to be maturing into a nice female. Good luck with her.

Headed to bed, will let you know how the heifer show goes tomorrow's. Saw the Vickland girls at check in. Nice calves. It is one of the bigger shows they have had in a while.

Doug- We DID steal her...she was one of the better heifers on the sale we thought...she should do well at State next year we think.

Shawn-  Thanks for the compliments...I would have LOVED to get over to Lima this weekend....just too much stuff with friends all home from college and family stuf to get over there...I have a place to stay over there...but the family was in Illinois this weekend......anyhow, I bet the Vickland's calves looked awesome, I wish I could have seen them in person.  Do you think our calves would have ran at all from the pics you've seen?  Our Double Vision female is flat awesome, no matter how you decide to pick a class...she should do well anywhere we show her....how do your calves look compared to the competition?
