Has anyone ever had any problems breeding Jesse James to a heifer? Also does anyone  have any pics of his calves?

Thank you, she will have growth to her IMO. Her dam is 9K Gold Key (Bull promoted by Apex Cattle Company that is a grandson of Meyer 734 and Who Made Who) x Arapahoe (Older simmental bull).

I know I'm putting my self out there.  Because I'm pretty happy with my results.  But here is goes.  I had a heifer calf by Jesse James and out of a Heat Wave daughter, shown extensively up to a little over a month before calving and she was fat.  To be safe, I did assist but just a hand, no chains, or anything, and I have MS so how much I actually did is really questionable.  I'm including pictures of the heifer prior to calving but after being turned out, a picture the the calf at approx. 16 hours and another of her 1 day shy of 4 weeks.  You may have seen her on Lautner's Blog several times.  I'm breeding her right back the same was as well as my yearling Angus heifer.

Would you recommend on breeding him to a Monopoly heifer? After seeing I80 go up to $50 a straw... I need to look at some different options.

And talk to people who have actually seen the bulls.  I've been told that it's hard to believe that Jesse James is a calving ease bull.  Very muscular.  But then a calf can be if it's the right shape.  From the pictures I saw, he was great topped, muscular, clean fronted, and all four legs pointed in the right direction.

Added bonus, being that he's 27.44 % Chianina, his calves out of commercial cows are 13.72%.  Calves out cows by Monopoly sons would be 14.573% Chi.  Out of Monopoly daughters, 15.27 % and of of Heat wave daughters 17.135%.  Making them all eligible for National Chianina shows and sales...soon other shows will follow the percentage requirement, mark my words.

Like who? Besides Lautner..... I80 show heifers are tough to beat, went through a huge group yesterday and the i80's were way better than the jj's.

A lot pf people. Also check out Jesse James steer calves this year, then check out i-80's. Everyone has there own opinion on what they like. I like calves that are thick. I saw a picture of I-80 at stud that doesnt compare to the one of Jesse James. I have seen some good i-80 heifers, Some. Some also don't seem to have enough in the tank when you walk away from the profile and go behind them. Last year Jesse James got bred more than ever, and yeah Follow lautners blog and you can see there the Jesse James calves have way more to them then the I-80's.

Like who? Besides Lautner..... I80 show heifers are tough to beat, went through a huge group yesterday and the i80's were way better than the jj's.

There was only one heifer registered in the ACA by Jesse James for 2011 and only three heifer registered so far from 2012.  More Jesse James calves are being born this year.  There are 22 heifers registered in the ACA alone by I-80 born in 2012.  Not to mention all of the Commercial, Maintainers and Maines?  You're going to see some really nice I-80's because there's a lot more of them out there.  They sold a lot more I-80 semen in previous years.  But see how well Jesse James is selling this year...there's a reason.  Now, I'm not saying I-80 isn't a good bull or a good sire.  But Jesse James is going to show a lot of people that he a place in this business as well.

The Jesse James heife shown by Lapke's(Spelling?) from Iowa IIRC, that was one of the best heifers around last year.

Have you seen any of these in person? Or just sit at home on the computer and see pictures, wayyyyyy more than "some" good i80 heifers, bulls proof is in the progeny.....
