I got two bales of Winning Fill recently. I have never used this product but have heard great things about it. I noticed that there are no feeding directions on the bag other than you can feed it leading up to the show or just on show day. Since I only have two bales I will use it on show day only.

My questions are: How much do you guys give per calf? And are there any other things I should know; someone told me to feed it wet, is that true? Tell me anything I should know. Thanks in advance. :)

I show two bred heifers this Thursday and a bull calf and a year old heifer on Friday. :D

I would start feeding it a few days before the show.  We feed it year round.  We feed about 3-5 pounds per day.  We feed it because they really like it and on show day we feed all they will eat and it helps give them a full look.

We tried it, but our girls did not care for it. Of course, we tried it several days before the show, and the day of the show. We had it over several shows, and when our season was over last month at state fair, I fed the rest of the bag to the cows. They loved it. Go figure!

I gave them a little this morning. They ate it all. I'll probably give them more this afternoon and at the show give them about 5 lb/head. Thanks!

Ya, GO FIGURE!!

We bought some last weekend to fill up a steer that we shrunk pretty hard for a fat steer show.  Everyone just RAVED about how he would just tear into it!

The steer across from us about broke the center fence down trying to get to it...our steer didn't like it.

Oh well, at least it didn't cost much......oh wait, it did.

I decided to keep feeding it to my little 7.5 month old bull calf until next year when I show him again as an experiment. He's has the "show" look more than most of the cattle that I own. I can tell that he starting to look a little fuller already than he did at the fair. This is a good thing because the judge said that his only problem was he wasn't fat enough yet [to be fair, he was just weaned not too long before the show lol].

I looked on Kent's website and found there is a dealer of Kent products about 50 miles away. I'm thinking that it might be cheaper to drive up there and get several bags at a time. Shipping from Sullivan's was kind of expensive.

Moorman's doesn't happen to have a product similar to this, do they? There's a Moorman dealer just a few miles away where I get the rest of my feed.
