KL- Lauer Shorthorn Complete Dispersal

I don't really follow who is doing what anymore in the shorthorn circles-- I am down to only making it to one or maybe to sales each fall.  I like the commercial aspect of the KL line-- what is up with the dispersal-- retiring, changing directions, etc.

Retiring-this herd has been around for a very long time and the influence is enormous-these cattle are behind-Waukaru, Byland,Homeplace,Jungels,and thousands of good REAL FUNCTIONAL cattle purebred and otherwise including some of ours back in the day  O0

Great influence, so much so that I swapped back a bull that had bred so exceptionally well for us. Still have some JSF Gauge 137W doses in the tank for future use.

Easiest fleshing cattle I've ever had. Not too big either.

Leveldale, Jungels, Sull, and others have crossed some more showy lines on KL cows with success.  A few years ago I was at Leveldale and Les had a whole pen full of KL heifers he's purchased.  Loving Farms have incorporated Keith Lauer blood into their large herd.  KL cattle do everything a cow should do, and can even produce a show animal when combined with the right other genetics.  Waukaru's Gold Mine bull had a KL granddam and our Homeplace Hot Commodity 1625, another easy to look at bull, has KL Double Duty back in his pedigree.  We have calves coming this fall from KL Prime Time Teddy as well as JSF Gauge 137, bred by Keith Lauer.  Rock solid program!

My perception of his herd........ . There is no 110 pound birth weights floating around in pedigrees. There are no females there that are 8 years old and only weaned 3 calves in their lifetime. There are no cows that have never not a calf on their own. No cattle see the show barn so I assume that fairly strict selection is put on economically important traits. All that stuff is worth something. How many registered herds are culled as strictly as progressive commercial herds?

Bringing this back up-- How did the sale go on October 26?  I am a little late coming back around to this.  Did they have a good turn out? 
Anyone have any results?
