Not to knock Sullivans but these are not the expensive Sullivan lights are they? I know at MN Beef Expo one lady just went out and bought LED Xmas rope lights. Wondering how those would work.

You can buy a 6 pack of 4' LED shop lights from Home Depot for about 130. I zip tie them on, and they work great.

Yup. Bought a single one and it's great. Will be getting more.  Cheap, bright, durable.

Everyone has a different take on these. No they are not Sullivan's lights. They are way easier to store and transport then some other lights out there. All the lights link together so you only need one cord to plug in. The ones I saw on the Home Depot site looked like they came to about $240 for 6 lights.

Walmart has LED light bars for $20 a piece. Mine are very durable, however, I've never taken them to a show. 2 complaints about them are that they are round so it can be difficult to position correctly, and that they all have to be plugged into a different cord (or a 3way splitter works). I have looked at the ones of sullivans and they look nice but with everything else about show cattle being expensive, I'd rather save money and deal with a few problems.

I think those are the same as the Home Depot ones. They have a square lug for mounting, and I mount those lugs pointing towards me and the light pointing away. This keeps the light out of my eyes as I am clipping. I bought a couple of the light weight 15' extension cords and a 6 plug power strip. It takes me about 10 minutes to set it all up with zip ties. I store them in a 4" PVC drainage pipe. It lighter walled than the SCH40 PVC pipe.

Obviously not a mobile option, but I put these lights in my clipping room about waist high for my boys to see while they are doing bellies and legs.
