Liveauction questions

Has anyone had any experience buying on Liveauction?
Does it cost to bid/buy?
Who do you pay the consignor or Liveauctions?

You pay the bid price. Shipping is up to the buyer.

I watched Jungels sale on one of those deals. You had to list bank......banker's name. Then someone approved it and I got a bidder no. ........but I didn't bid.

In the sales that we manage that we work with Liveauctions, we take care of all of the billing from our office after the sale. I do not believe that you have to pay a fee to be online with them.

Its, I believe $50.00 per year to sign up. unlike DVA auction sites ect.

It does not cost anything to bid online.  You just pay the amount on the animal.  Check usually goes to whomever is settling the sale.  The seller is the only one who pays liveauctions

Thomas it depends on the sale.

You can pay for 30 days or for one year. 

I am not a fan.  Too many errors and too much confusion.  If you want to bid I would get someone on the phone.

Heard that there were many issues with liveauctions during the IBE red angus sale. Was told the computer operator wasn't keeping up with auctioneer and was very slow taking bids. Apparently it led to some online bidders not bidding because if they bid at $1000, they were not put "in" until $2500 (as an example).  Not sure what the issue was; new operator learning, fast auctioneer, but heard it from more than several from different parts of the country so it was not the internet connection.

From what I understand, the sale management does all the billing and invoicing.

We have bought embryos on there a couple of times and never had a problem. Not saying they don't have some but our experience was good.

Bought through them and several of the others. Never had a problem with my purchases even bought one from Canada. Liveauctions does charge a $50 annual membership fee which I don't like but you either pay it or don't use the service. Have run into a few connection interruptions that caused me to miss out on something I wanted but never got stuck paying more than I bid.

If you are asking about liveauctions.tv  they make buyers buy a magazine subscription to qualify for bidding.  I suggest having a ring man do the bidding as liveauctions.tv often has issues; like this year at the Denver Angus sale they had the sale order posted sideways, and last year at Sullivan fall sale they were off line 2/3 of the time.

BTDT is exactly right.  It is far from isolated to the Red Angus sale and results in major problems when people start clicking more than once. Sometimes people click more than once because their bid does not show up and they run themselves up, their bid goes in way, way higher than they ever intended, and I am sure there are other problems. 

The "slow" computer operator thing should not have happened more than once.  Now it is the go to excuse.
