I've heard a lot of rumblings across the country about the grand and reserve calves, that there was a great one left standing in the grand drive that should've won easily...any truth to that folks?

they were all good calves in the final drive. he picked the same type all day and i followed him easily. maybe some people liked a calf still standing but i got a good look at vicklands steer and thought that he was very good and deserving.

Yes there was a good calf left, but the ones standing in purple sure as heck deserved to be there. Both steers were good. As the previous post said, he was consistent all day and the 2 that one were the ones I picked, as being pretty close in kind.

Brad is one of the most consistent judges in the country.  He knows his cattle and likes sound functional cattle, with that killer look.  To answer the question bout some getting left standing,  of course your gonna hae people tell ya there was, its simply one mans opinion!!!!!!!!!

I thought he had just as much foot size as any calf out there, and he opened up through his chest floor and heart cavity very well. JMO
