maine bulls?

Besides Hard Whiskey and I-80 what maine bulls do I use to make show females?  I know Irish Whiskey will get me a 3/4 blood influence right? But what purebred deals are out there.  Im knew to the maine deal and I have a more terminal kinda female that my wife wants to breed to monopoly and his TH free sons, I would like some ideas on the female side. The beast I have could use more body(should get there in time and with age), and possibly more size, but that's coming from a shorty guy.

Griswolds have several pure bred to high % Maine bulls like Last stand, Daddy's Money, Patton, Cerveza etc. 
Comfort Zone has seemed to clean up a front end on some steers that I have seen.
Mercedez Benz is another great bull that could work on your cow without seeing a picture of your cow.
Add in Rumor Mill also.
Just one thing to remember is as of last year all registered Maine bulls must be TH/PHA Free and by January 1, 2020 all registered maine cattle must be TH/PHA Free.

Not to hijack this thread but would any of the above mentioned bulls make show heifers who could go on and make nice cows in the pasture?  Been looking real hard at Comfort Zone myself.

Yes I believe that all could and will make great show heifer and then function as a cow. Anytime I see a Griswold ad they advertise "Maternal Power" Comfort Zone is bred the same way. Like all the rest he has one heck of a dam.

Having said all this, the bull is only half of the equation.

Buck cattle has a few bulls that are high Maine and sired a bunch of winners. Bk unlimited power prob being the most successful.

I think you are probably on the right track.. some high quality females with some middle and performance

I also know what you mean about more rib... I think that is the most difficult thing to breed up to in the Maine deal...

Remember that if you want to show heifers as high percentage they need to be 3/4 or better.. some of the bulls listed are less than purebred, Rumor Mill is 5/8 and Mercedes Benz is 3/4

but both have a place and I am using them... Daddy's money is also a 3/4

purebreds that I am using striving for a little more performance and hopefully flank include "X", All that Matters ( a hard whiskey son) and a bull from DMCC called Blk Gold

The best heifers here right now are out of Daddy's money and GVC Twitter... although Twitter is 3/4 we bred him to some purebreds to get " purebreds"

This heifer is a Daddy's money out of a nice I-80 first calf heifer.. I really need to find someone from SW Kansas or Oklahoma who wants to pull her around

I still don't see many purebred bulls that are defect free besides I-80 or Hard Whiskey, or something with there influence or similar breeding. I see a lot of percentage deals and pha carriers.

You are correct in that a lot of the lo birth weight bulls go back to Ali.. and a lot of the other bulls  go back to hard core...
GVC Suh, and the other GVC bulls wouldn't.. The DMCC bulls won't except Mark has been using some I-80 lately

I notice Yardley has a limited edition, irish whiskey bull listed and really talks up his performance ... if he is PHA clean he might make the short list

I think his name is close to Mitten Man and that knocks off his recognition a little bit., A friend of mine tried Mitten man to make cows and was disappointed in the calves performance

I remember liking Maine Mans  Denver pic and there are some nice calf pics here on steer planet...I don't see him listed on the sires line much n backdrop pics ... sometimes I wonder if that is more from volumes of semen used than quality of calves... nevertheless it seems like some younger bulls are getting more use

I like the Maine Man.  Phenotypically I like him more than I-80.  I'm considering using him. What about Gucci?  Ever used TLM Bouncer 152L or Duracell?
