That's not excactly what I do but I am a lineman. We work transmision and distribution lines. The worst part of it to me is the extreme weather conditions that we work in. Ice storms are by far the worst.

I woulda been hugging that pole until they pried me off.  Actually I don't think I'd have made it off the elevator.

A friend of mine sent that to me yesterday.  It brought back bad memories; I witnessed a man fall to his death while painting a radio tower.

I don't even like being up a ladder 17 feet! Jacqueline climbed ladders several stories high when she was in fire cadets but Dad just tried not to think about it. Could make for some nightmares.

I commented on this after reading the post on my phone.  Now that I'm home and see it this is nothing like what I do.  Guess i should have kept my mouth shut. <cowboy>

That is nothing like 99.99 % of the population does.  No idea how much I would have to be paid to do something like that, but I do know NO ONE could afford it.  (thumbsup)

some on here would probably agree that every job should be unionized, even capital providers and that everyone's benefits and pension should be the same,no matter the contribution or lack of it, and if there should ever be a technology that replaces this that the union job to change a lightbulb atop a 2000 foot tower should never go away even if the tower serves no purpose other than posterity, which i'm sure the government/union would see fit to do just like they do for useless water towers from previous generations.

I can't stand heights but if I climbed as high as I could that poor guy following me on the way up would be wearing my last meal and maybe more. :)))

I've never had a panic attack but I'm pretty sure I almost had one watching that...I would die of terror before I ever had the chance to fall

not sure why what I posted was included in the Union-NonUnion discussion, but I can guarantee that topic was the last thing on my mind gentlemen!  Let me rephrase it for ya.......  in response to wrc in the post above my initial..... there are not many people that would have the guts to accept such a job.  That is flat out numbing and you could not pay me enough to take part.  Could really care less if those two guys are Union or not...... all I can say is they each have a set of brass!
