Hi all. New on this forum. I have a 19 year old heifer that developed an unusual injury. Started as a small round wound about 6 months ago. Honestly looked like a bullet hole. Progressively grew into a large (6" around) oozing lump. Tried topical antibiotics but nothing helped. Can anyone identify this. Picture attached. Thank you all.

It could be cancerous. I had a dog growing up that had lumps like that and they would ooze too.(they were cancerous)
You could try draining it out completely and then putting the antibiotics on it. Sometimes the cancer comes back somewhere else in them if it is cut off.

My mom just left the lumps on the dog because they weren't hurting it. However, she used to put this bone knit cream that had comfrey in it on the lumps, and it made them better.

The more I look at the lump, the more I think it could be cancerous.

if the calf is important to you, take it to the vet. f not, shoot it. could be contagious to your other cattle
