I have this clubby heifer we put out to pasture to get bull bred. While out in the pasture she got pretty slick haired. I was wondering If anyone has had success or a noticable difference with melatonin implants. Her last show is in about 40 days, so I would like it to work fast. What other things or methods have you guys used to grow hair fast.

I personally don't have any experience with using melatonin, but if you hose her down with cold water in the morning, at night, and in the afternoon she should start to grow her hair more if you do it everyday. Also brush her with like a curry comb/wash brush. That will help stimulate the hair to grow. As well, really rub her good when you do it.

I show herefords and it seems to help a bit, but they still have short hair. Even in winter.

I do see results in a month when I do these things. Also keep a fan on her.

Fluffy Cows Pour on supplement. Matt Launter Cattle. this stuff works great!

Rinse her with cold water twice a day, keep her in a cool place with fans on her, make sure you dry her out well, water holds heat. Use a rice root brush brushing forward and up at a 45. We would rinse well with cold water then brush them with the fans blowing on them until almost completely dry then finish by blowing them out.
