Is Mama's Boy only registered Simmental?  I was hoping Chi also.

Mama's Boy is registered simmi and will be registered chi also.  Has not been submited, but cow is registered I believe, so anticipate no setbacks.

Thank you

Would you let us know if the Chi registry goes through, I can justify using him a lot easier if I can show the calves at Chi/Maine Jr. Nationals.  Thanks

How does he work on purebred cattle? Are the calves looking showy? I would also like to see pictures!

Seems to me that Climax has been around forever (4+ years), but he is fairly unheard of.. yet all kinds of people want to use him for his closeness in relation to Meyer...

Personally, being a fan of linebreeding in the right spots.. I'd chance using him regardless of what he's produced (or hasn't) elsewhere.. big whoop- they're cows aren't the same as mine...

But then again, I can think of a few other linebred Meyer bulls that didn't quite work out as planned.

We have 1 weaned Climax heifer out of a 3/4 Angus cow. Really showy looking good extension and flashy. We have 2 heifers and 1 bull calf on the ground right now out of 3/4 to 100% angus cows. BW were good 65-85 lbs. Really liking the heifers, the bull was solid black and horned not as impressed with him yet but he has some growing to do yet. We just ordered 3 racks of Climax and plan on breeding all of our registered and high % Angus cows to him this spring (about 18 head). We think that his heifers are gonna make some great club producers. Our Angus cows are super stout and thick but could use a bit more length and front end extension and as far as I can tell Climax is doing this pretty well. Would love to see some other folks pictures of there Climax calves.

Thanks,
Brett Ausley

Thanks for the post. Just ran onto this bull a couple of weeks ago and am thinking of using him on a set of 2 year old heifers I just bought after they calve to make some clubby females.

Here are 3 December Climax heifers out of some of our Angus cows. Can't wait to see how these girls grow out.
