My Calf

Hi there, I am new here. My steer this year has unusually loose stools. He is not on grain yet, so I know it's not a protein issue. He has a big appetite and is not lethargic. Just wondering how I could help him and what might be wrong. Thanks.

Might try deworming him with a different mode of action wormer. A few years ago a neighbor had a similar problem of loose stools calf just not quite performing. He had been using avermectin class dewormers, I went over and helped him treat the calf with prohibit that solves the problem. I recommend him to rotate his dewormers.

What is the calf eating, if grazing fresh winter annuals and forages with high water content that can cause loose stools

He is on baled grass hay.

If hes on hay and is very loose you need to have a vet look him over.
