Last month a friend and I attended the Southeast Saskatchewan Sweep Steaks sales where I purchased these two females who I'm really excited about. Both of them were my pick of their sales and I didn't have to break the bank on either of them.
The first heifer is a Blair-Athol 6 Solid daughter bred to their newest herd bull, BBSF 719T Zach 60Z from Blair Athol Polled Herefords. I saw Zach after I bought the heifer and now I'm even more excited for her to calve! Zach will be at Agribition this fall.
The second heifer is an end of March NJW Beef daughter that I purchased from Square-D Polled Herefords who is so quiet that I halter broke her the same day that she was clipped & pictured. (Her back legs look a little funny in the last picture but she was pulling a bit on the rope as that was the first time she'd ever been tied up). I'm really hoping I can make some time to jackpot her in the spring, she saw very little feed before the sale but she's just as fat and soggy as most of the show heifers I've seen this fall.
