I am amazed that Tebow got to New York City....Spiller should be there in his place.

Also have to say that McCoy probably shouldn't be on the stage either....in Texas' 2 biggest games this year, he was average at best.  And remember, he nearly single-handedly took UT out of the National Championship Game with his moronic clock management at the end of the game Saturday.  As has been stated, I have to feel McCoy and Tebow are there for ratings and as "lifetime achievement awards."

My opinion of Ingram...seems to be a horse, but is he simply a product of the system?  When that second team back, #3, came in Saturday, he did everything that ingram was doing.  Probably deserves to be there, but he's not my winner.

I could live with either Suh or Gerhart.  Suh is just crazy good...did y'all see him throw McCoy like a rag doll?  That was a truly dominating performance....4.5 sacks while being double teamed.....against the #2 team in the country.....digest that!!!!

Gerhart; yep, he's deserving too.  He's done it consistently all year in an old school fashion.

Good luck to all the guys in NYC.

I am not taking nothing away from either Tebow or Colt.Tebow is a warrior, plays like a linebacker.Colt has shown he has guts galore.Spiller didnt get the hype he needed and Clemson was  not in the limelight. We in the Midwest see very few west coast games, the kid from Stanford is good, but is in the wrong region.Rusty

whoever plays Nebraska is my favorite team but Mr Suh how do you do!!! Every game every play the guy was a manamal! If it was just MVP vote you could not bypass Suh but it is a advertised paid commercial to be mentioned for Heisman at all.And the schools that spend the most promote Offensive players for Heisman Ditto on who shouldwin but I don't have a vote!!

McCoy has always played great in Texas's biggest games.  Just because they didnt score a ton of points against NE doesnt mean he played bad.

I'd vote Suh, McCoy, Tebow.  None of the RBs are truly great runners comparable to some of the past RB winners.  If Suh had done this more than one year he'd win the thing.

Tebow is one of the best college football players ever to play the game. That being said he is a perfect system type guy as the QB's from Texas Tech and Hawaii have been over the last couple years. If UF had beaten AL in the national championship game LAST week, he was the winner, but he's out.

If TX beats AL McCoy is in. Never happen in a million years. He's not Vince Young.

Ingram is an average SEC running back. He carries the ball a lot and he has a great O line to carry it behind. He could win by default. He's not even the 5th or 6th best player on his team.

I can''t believe my friend husker in his assessment of  Spiller.PULEASE. I assume every one is getting their opinion on him from the ACC championship game. It's the minor leagues, Class A at best. The week before two very, very average SEC teams waxed the two teams that played for the ACC championship. Georgia had 2 backs that had almost as many yards against Georgia Tech as Spiller did. But he is fast and has a lot of heart. But he's no Adrain Petersen.

I like the kid from Stanford. But if Stanford played in the SEC you'd never even know who he was. Don't believe me? Ever heard of Joe Cox? He's not mentioned in the Heisman voting, that's for sure. He's the QB for Georgia. Most of the fans here don't think he could QB a high school team. Yet he has better senior year stats than Dan Marino and Bernie Kosar in almost every category. He's average at best in the SEC. Gerhart is too slow for the SEC. You'd have never heard of him if he played there.

Suh is the best college football player of this year. He'll be a  number one pick in the NFL draft unless some one is in dire need of a QB and gets to pick first. It would be nice to see him get it. But doubtful.

My pick is Ingram because he represents the National Championship team and I think that's a shame when he's not even one of the top players on his team.

"If Suh had done this more than one year he'd win the thing."  Chambero, don't mean to throw you under the bus, but that is exactly what is wrong with Heisman voting!  This is not designed to be a lifetime achievement award....it is for this year.....and this year only.

Gonewest....sorry.  I have to admit that I've only seen Spiller play a couple times.  (don't remember the games, but he did play well)  Now, the main reason that I have him in my top 4 is that I firmly believe that Tebow and McCoy don't belong there (THIS YEAR!).

Agree 100% with your asessment of Ingram.

Gerhart...he did it all year, Gonewest.....Yes, he doesn't possess all of the shear natural ability...but he has the intangibles...he's old school.  I'd let him on our team anyday.....(can't agree with you on him).

I will not throw a fit with either Gerhart or Suh.....

As an aside....at noon today, my 6 year old is playing Nebraska-Oklahoma on X-Box (snow day from school)....I walk in his room and he says...."Dad, if Adi didn't kick that ball out of bounds and Larry didn't get called for that horsecollar, we'd have beat those darn Longhorns"    Darn near brought tears to my eyes....I've got a true Husker fan...at age 6....3 days later and it's still the main thing on his mind.

You gotta love college sports.  He's so darn proud of Mr. Suh too....

Appreciate everyone's opinion on college football...it's great to discuss with all the fans across the country.  The greatest sports season of all!

Its almost impossible for any defensive player to win the Heisman - let alone a lineman.  I dont think they'll give it to one nobody ever heard of before this year - although I think they should.

There are no set criteria for the Heisman.  Every voter uses their own - therefore there are no right or wrong answers - just opinions.  The debate that creates is what they love.  Honestly, I dont mind it when they consider a career.  Wouldnt bother me if they picked Tebow.  I like football players - not "stat" guys.

Suh gets my vote.  I wouldn't be surprised if he goes #1 overall with the way defensive tackles are prized in the nfl.

Scott,
maybe Spiller played well when you saw him, but you get no points for playing well against the third grade All Stars (Almost Competitive Conference) Did you not see what two very, very, average teams did to the two teams who played for the ACC title?  South Carolina WAXED Clemson. And as I said, I really like that kid from Stanford, but he couldn't play in the SEC. Remember Ron Dane? He got maybe 6 yards against us in a bowl game.  Not sure why you didn't think Tebow belonged this year. His team lost 1 game and if they win that game, he's a shoe in. I don't think that people realize that SEC teams play a conference championship level game 8-9 times each year. It's a different level.

Suh is the best player. Ingram and Tebow represent the best teams. One of them will win. Hope it's Suh. but I wouldn't bet on it.

WOW!  I was hoping Suh would at least get an invite to NY!  Never thought he'd get the love he's getting!  Check out this site that links to the Austin American Statesman!
I guess they have 4 Heisman voters!  Boy, the Horn fans gotta love this! How does one Paper have this many votes?
