I don't think there is anyway a 30,000$ bull could end up being a "flash in the pan".  ;D

Sue,
I don't know if there is a prize.  I just thought it would be interesting to see what people had for names.  I do know that Bob likes a simple name and he likes towns.    I think you name  " Dallas"  is in the running.  If I hear he has picked  a name I will let everyone know.

I just teasing - I should really try to make it to there sale. I have always admired his total outcross female lineup. He sells a bull promotes it and you see progeny in the following sale, true breeder of shorthorns.

If Bob likes the names of towns, I saw a few interesting ones on the New Mexico map the other day.

Alamo, Cimarron, Arroyo, Aztec, Navajo & Tularosa  or the always popular Elephant Butte or Yah-Ta-Hey

We can stay with the year code and the Vegas line and call him Xcaliber. I hope that is prize worthy!

Stumpy I like your name for Bob's Vegas Bull calf.  Also I talked to Bob and he is thinking about a prize for the name he chooses.  It maybe 5 units or so of semen on the bull.    I also think Bob is going to narrow the choices down to 10 names and then we can post them for you to choose from those.  Also if the weather holds Bob is going to get a picture of the bull calf this weekend.

Found this picture from the Fort Worth Stock Show... And since there may be a prize in this deal... Well, I still think "DF Pheonix" has a nice ring to it.  <cowboy>

Well Bob is down to 10 names.  Lets here your choose on what you think of Bob's final 10.  I think next week Bob will have a picture of the bull calf and from your comments will have the name selection down to 3.  And then there was One.
