Can anyone tell me how or if they attempt to fix bigger navels on heifers they intend to show?

Don't laugh, but I've glued navels up before. You just spray a lot of tail adhesive on the off side, make a big sticky mess, and stick it to their belly. Then spray some more and smear the hair to seal it off. Just be careful to not get ahead of yourself or it can look funny. I have sent a few head through the ring like this quite successfully. Glued a friend's navel up on a heifer that always had her navel commented on and nothing was said. It works quite well.

At what age does this work best and how long will it take to fall off?

You guys wear me out! Good breeding females have some brisket, navel, and  large, wrinkly female genetalia. Who taught Y'uns how to select breeding stock?

I think they are referring to show animals, not breeding stock.  Not always one in the same.

So are you saying to glue it up on the left side of their belly?  I never would have thought about doing that, but may try it at the next show with our English Commercial heifer.

Yes. Spray it on the navel on the left side and then fold the navel over onto the left side of the belly. Takes a little while for the glue to get sticky, so go slow.
