NC/ ? about a sick goat.

A friends goat has developed a medical problem and no one seems to be quite sure what it is even the vet.
The Goats tongue is now hanging out the side of her mouth and her ear on the same side is drooping. At one time they thought the jaw was swollen and that maybe she had gotten stung but it's seems to be getting worse.
Anyone ever hear of this happening?

Seems neurological.  Did the goat get into a head butting match with a larger/stronger goat that could have torqued its neck?

We had some sheep get swollen in their jaw.  We finally figured out that they were eating something that caused it.  I think it was pokeberry plants.  Anyway, I don't know if the goat is a show goat being fed a show ration,  or are just turned out eating.  We had to pen our sheep for a few days to keep them from eating the toxic plants until we could get rid of it.

Like show steaks said, the first thing that came to my mind was a stroke as well.
