He ranks in the top 1% of the breed for WW, YW, TM, CW EPD's and is currently the #1 YW EPD in the breed. He should prove to be an excellent  power,growth and maternal bull. RW

I'm curious, do you have lines that are growth vs.others that are calving ease, maternal or do you focus on performance in all your herd sires. I'm impressed with the performance of this bull!

Okotoks - This is not a bull that I will use on heifers until he is proven one way or the other. While I am not seriously concerned with his calving ease, I'm not looking for a wreck either. Ideally we would like to combine all of the desireable traits in one bull and have him suit us phenotypically, but those bulls are few and far between. It would be really cool to find the bull that sired calves that hit the ground in the mid to upper 70's, wean off the cow in the upper 700's, be in the 1500's at yearling (bulls) and be competative in the show ring. I see several hundred Red Angus bulls sell a year and have yet to see the perfect bull go through the ring yet. My herd is based on "the girls" and I try to find bulls that will compliment them. I like my girls pretty, sound and stout and probably bigger than most people do. I am not sold on the moderating of the Red Angus cows to the point that they are basically red Lowlines. I'll take a 6+ frame score cow over a 4 frame score cow any day in my little corner of the world, right or wrong it's what feeds my family. My customers still sell their cattle by the pound and look for bulls that will sire calves that come easy and grow like weeds up to the day they sell them. RW

We are 2/3 done calving the heifers we bred to him, they have ranged from 73 to 78 pounds. Nice calves, will definately use him haed this breeding season.RW
