I have been wondering lately with as many bulls that lautners and everyone else promotes yearly, how many good bulls have fallen through the cracks. For example, I can look through some of lautners bulls that came several years ago, that have all the right pedigrees and look like they have some potential and yet I have not even heard of a single calf. I got some Duramax semen last year for 9 bucks a unit and used it on some cows just for kicks. Has anyone else thought about a "no-name bull" and wondered what if? Have you used any of the lesser known bulls out there and had success? <cowboy>

why would anyone want to use the old bulls when you can use unproven new ones?  (lol)

there are so many good bulls if you can find semen that will work...I am trying to find semen on several myself right now.

I would use Windsor today, although he was popular in his time so I dont know if he fits. In my mind he matches up perfect with small chubby and plain made HW type cows. If I had Jolt or Stoney in my tank and I had an Angus cow in the chute I might use it and hope for a heifer.
