Ok, time out cowboy!! Slow down.
It is mid September and I believe you are in Iowa???
You don't need to do ANYTHING to get more hair on him. Take the easy hair that mother nature it going to give you. Don't chemical him all up. There is absolutely no reason.
All you need to be doing with your new little show steer make sure he is eating good, rinse him every couple days with a little cheap conditioner, get him in and blow him out every day, lots of combing...just get him calm and adjusted to his new home.
If you are determined to spray something on him, use a little sheen. When the weather cools down a little more, put a little oil in his hair.
I know you are excited with your new steer, and I am excited for you. Don't start using hair supplements until you need them. You will screw around and have him shedding in November or December. When that happens, you are going to have a whole new set of problems.
Monopoly is as good for hair as any bull out there. Hairy ears are generally a good sign!
