Northern Legend 3N's EBV's are up and I am pretty excited! Andy Withers, Belmore Shorthorns imported Northern Legend 3N's semen for his herd and also to use in the Durham Project and today they posted his EBVs. It's an early Christmas present as he is below breed average for gestatation, below for BW and above breed average for weaning weight!  (clapping)

That's the same as his EPD's in the ASA. Now the long wait for carcass data to see if his marbling will be above average as his Igenity results showed. The link below takes you to his Australian info.

Northern Legend 3N -4.1 gest   +2.2 BW    200day +34     400 day +42     600 day +47
Breed Average         -1.2 gest   +3.1 BW    200day +25     400 day +34     600 day +44

Next year Andy will also be getting the first calves from this year's Canadian Western Agribition Grand Champion, GLENFORD JUST RIGHT 4W.
Uluru has semen rights on 4W.
Yet again I shall have to witness Jacqueline's knowing look and smile. She purchased Northern Legend 3N when he was 5 months old after I said we didn't need another white bull. Jacqueline was 14 at the time.

Solid proof that you should listen to your daughters more... Look at the high accuracy of our decisions... More than pretty faces and not at all modest.... (lol)

That is FANTASTIC NEWS!! Exciting times.
Wanted to add, that puts 3N in the top 1 per cent of the breed in Australia for gestation length, and the top 10 per cent for 200 day weight. Can't wait to see how the rest goes ;D

And I have 5 words for Jacqueline: "You call THAT a knife?" hehe. ;)

Well in my biased opinion it was a good choice.  ;D
Did you get them from Hatfield? What is the other breeding in them? We have several 3N daughters and grand daughters in production and we are pleased with them. There are a couple of double bred Legend's that are really nice. One of the best coming two year olds is a red daughter of Diamond Regal Legend 4R.

Yes, I picked them up at Hatfield.  The Legend daughter is out of his Baroness cow and the grand daughter is from his Butterfly cow family.  I am very happy with them, they will make great cows and are super quiet for the girls to show this summer.  I will try to get some pictures up if I can every get home in the day light.
