Prolapses ARE genetic....kinda like the DNA test for scrapie, it test for increased likelyhood of that sheep to develope scrapie if exposed to the disease. Some genetic lines of sheep are more likely to develope prolapses if the environment is right for prolapses (high protein content, dusty feed, bracing too hard etc). Some genetic lines of sheep will not prolapse regardless of environment.  Some will prolapse for any little reason...stay away from those!

in your experience, which lines are susceptible to prolapse?
