If anyone is going to the sale tomorrow I would like to know what lot 53 and 57 sale for. Thanks.
Also in my opinion, the simmy sale should have been soft. There were only 4 quality show heifers in the sale and 1 was bred. There others were just solid breeding heifers. I dont think people are going to pay a lot for open solid breeding heifers. Also, One might realize prices were up last year because of JR.NATIONALS last year, not the case for this year. In the maine sale, I thought there were some good heifers standing in the stall. I had 2 heifers be pulled out and walk, the one heifer was a sooner and was 6-8 inches short on her stride and the other was a Doc heifer who walked out wide on her hind wheels, like paddled. Standing in the stalls, these were two of the higher end heifers. But when your looking at higher end cattle and some of the top ones arent structurally correct, I dont think they should sell that high. JMOBovine Chaos said:I do not have all the results, but I heard it was a very SOFT sale this year. A family from Michigan ran 2 heifers down there and got $2900 and $2650 and they were EXTREMELY pleased with those prices compared to the rest of the sale. I also heard the simmy sale was soft as well. I think the drought is catching up to everyone.
