I do not do stuff like this often, but I feel this is one of the most important things I can do today.
Please support our men and women of our country by NOT supporting those that do not. - Jen

In Memory of
my brother -in- law
LT. C.Thomsen Wieland
who spent 100 days at the Hanoi Hilton

JANE FONDA:
She really is a traitor

A TRAITOR IS ABOUT TO BE HONORED
KEEP THIS MOVING ACROSS AMERICA

This is for all the kids born in the 70's who do
not remember, and didn't have to bear the
burden that our fathers, mothers and older
brothers and sisters had to bear.

Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the
'100 Women of the Century.'
BY BARBRA WALTERS

Unfortunately, many have forgotten and still
countless others have never known how Ms.
Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country,
but specific men who bled and sacrificed
during Vietnam

The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot.
The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat.
In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF
Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison
the ' Hanoi Hilton.'

Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell,
cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJ's, he was
ordered to describe for a visiting American
'Peace Activist' the 'lenient and humane
treatment' he'd received.

He spat at Ms. Fonda, was clubbed, and was
dragged away.
During the subsequent beating, he fell forward
on to the camp Commandant 's feet, which
sent that officer berserk.

In 1978, the Air Force Colonel still suffered from
double vision (which permanently ended his
flying career) from the Commandant's frenzied
application of a wooden baton.

>From 1963-65, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the
47FW/DO (F-4E's). He spent 6 years in the
'Hanoi Hilton',,, the first three of which his
family only knew he was 'missing in action'.
His wife lived on faith that he was still alive.
His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed and
clothed routine in preparation for a
'peace delegation' visit.

They, however, had time and devised a plan to
get word to the world that they were alive
an d still survived. Each man secreted a tiny
piece of paper, with his Social Security Number
on it , in the palm of his hand.

When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a
cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each
man's hand and asking little encouraging
snippets like: 'Aren't you sorry you bombed
babies?' and 'Are you grateful for the humane
treatment from your benevolent captors?'
Believing this HAD to be an act, they each
palmed her their sliver of paper.

She took them all without missing a beat. At the
end of the line and once the camera stopped
rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs,
she turned to the officer in charge and handed
him all the little pieces of paper.

Three men died from the subsequent beatings.
Colonel Carrigan was almost number four
but he survived, which is the only reason we
know of her actions that day.

I was a civilian economic devel opment advisor
in Vietnam , and was captured by the North
Vietnamese communists in South Vietnam in
1968, and held prisoner for over 5 years.

I spent 27 months in solitary confinement; one
year in a cage in Cambodia ; and one year
in a 'black box' in Hanoi
My North Vietnamese captors deliberately
poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a
nur se in a leprosarium in Ban me Thuot, South
Vietnam , whom I buried in the jungle near the
Cambodian border.
At one time, I weighed only about 90 lbs.
(My normal weight is 170 lbs.)

We were Jane Fonda's 'war criminals.'

When Jane Fond a was in Hanoi , I was asked by
the camp communist political officer if I would
be willing to meet with her.

I said yes, for I wanted to tell her about the real
treatment we POWs received... and how
different it was from the treatment purported by
the North Vietnamese, and parroted by her as
'humane and lenient.'

Because of this, I spent three days on a rocky
floor on my knees, with my arms outstretched
with a large steel weights placed on my hands,
and beaten with a bamboo cane.;

I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fonda
soon after I was released. I asked her
if she would be willing to debate me on TV.
She never did answer me.

These first-hand experiences do not exem plify
someone who should be honored as part
of '100 Years of Great Women.'
Lest we forget..' 100 Years of Great Women'
should never include a traitor whose hands are
covered with the blood of so many patriots.

There are few things I have strong visceral
reactions to, but Hanoi Jane's participation in
blatant treason, is one of them.
Please take the time to forward to as many
people as you possibly can.
It will eventually end up on her computer and
she needs to know that we will never forget.

For once we agree Showheifer...this lady makes me sick and Miss Walters should be ashamed of herself for honoring her.  My dad tells of her visits to Vietnam and it makes him sick thinking of her.

I will add my agreement to this post.  "Hanoi Jane" is an embarassment to this country not someone to be revered.  I guess I'll have to write Barbara Walters the same kind of letter that I wrote to the USA Network when I heard they were considering following the wishes of PETA when it come to their programming.  I have never and will never buy anything that Jane Fonda is in!  JMO

babwa is a traitor as well.

network news is irrelevant.  that's why it morphed to infotainment.

it's almost irrelevant as well.

brian williams, "making sense of it all" so you don't have to.

if that doesn't spell it out for you, i don't know what does.

there is no longer any separation of church and state, and i don't mean christianity.

It always scares me when I agree w/ Show Hef or understand Knabe!  ;)  (lol)

Another thing I hate is when these
Hollywood types use award shows to express their opinion on the war. They never think that without our fighting men & women they'd never have an outlet to express themselfs!

Totaly unknown to me at the time, I was just short of 19 when I got to see one of her "SHOWS" during a USO tour. Obviously -- she had already been to the Hilyon before ending her tour and giving this so-called show of hers.

Within a very fews days -- we were al told of her escapades and what she did. I was sick to my stomach then and still today when ever I hear her name!

I was in Special Forces then, one of the "No see - no hear" guys. I think that at least 4 of the 5 guys in little TEAM would have taken her out that day had they known what she had done -- I won't say where I stood on it, but you could probably do the math fairly easy.

She is pathetic -- and of course AFTER the war -- now she is just as bad making waves for PETA. How pathetic.

Thanks for the reminder SHow Hfr -- of course you knew I was there at the time -- sad part is that there was nothing WE could do about it all -- we were of course just little specks on the Military's list of assests, of which they soon forgot about later. Oh well -- alot of us survived the times -- and there were some who didn't, trust me -- there are tihings worse than death. Even today.

I truly hope that wopman likes very very WARM places after death!

There is a special place I would like to send good ol' Jane and all of her cronies - straight to hell on the end of a short piece of rope. I think I posted this before but I believe it warrants reposting, it's a hand written sign in our local VFW - If you don't stand behind our troops - stand in front of them. RW

For all of the publicity she gets and the money she's made, I bet she isn't nearly as happy with her life as most of us are.  Would any of us trade our lives for hers?

I hate to pretend I know where someone is or isn't headed at the end, but as others alluded to, I bet this life is as good as it will get for her.

I'm thinking when the terrorists get to heaven and open the door expecting 72 virgins Jane will be the only one there. It would be fitting.

I have learned to hate Jane Fonda since I could comprehend what my father was saying.  His personal favorite movie scene is when Katherin Hepburn slaps her upside the face in On Golden Pond.  He cheers every single time.

All that said, I wouldn't start writing letters to ABC about the upcoming airing of this episode.  This actually happened 10 years ago.  The 100 years of great women aired back in 1999.  I can remember my father being irate about it at the time.

Of course none of this changes anything about Jane, so please continue to hate and boycott away.

I just wanted to say "Thanks" to everyone who agrees with me on this. I know sometimes we all don't see eye to eye, but it is nice to know we can have common ground on something as important as this.
Also, keep those comments coming. I know of several Vietnam vets that read this board (other war veterans also) and I know how much they appreciate the kind words.

Thank you. <hero>
