I got to clip this fall born purebred Maine heifer. She's an October sired by BK unlimited power out of a fear this cow. What do y'all think?

She sure strikes a pretty side profile! Solid breeding heifer prospect. Only downfall I could see is maybe little too much legs/not enough guts....but those guts usually come with time. Good calf, and best of luck!

I think she will grow out of the legs, her dam was a late bloomer. Thank you for the comments though.

Thank you gargan. I was pleasantly surprised when I hacked off all the hair she had.

For those interested here is her registration #434073. What do ya'll think of this pedigree?

I like to look at Maine pedigrees. I think she is going to end up being a big girl which is not bad. You can breed her to a bull that will down size.  Really like Unlimited Power. The Fear This/Reflector (maternal sire) combo on the bottom might suggest a bit too straight on her wheels but carries a lot of style. Use a smaller framed loose structured calving ease bull come time to breeding her. Show her and have fun. JMHO.

Telos, she is a little straight but still fairly sound. I have her for sale, I don't plan on keeping her.

I am very glad you said that. I kinda thought she gets a little straight in her shoulder causing her to stand out over that front end a little more for my liking. And I tend to agree with the guts comments. she needs a ton of guts for the frame she is going to happen. If she was out of any other bull I would say I wanted to pull apart from the skeleton but seeing so many of Unlimited Power calves in sales and then at shows I have noticed they really grow into themselves. If she was mine I would hold off on advertising her. I would poor the grain to her and about mid-april really start advertising her whenever you can put 150 pounds on her and she still has some shag for a good pic. In 150 pounds, this heifer is going to be worth $750-$1000 more. JMO!

It was a struggle to get a picture of her, she was just about to run, in fact right after this picture she took off. I just kind of wanted people to see her, I know she will look tons better 150 pounds heavier, I think she's going to end up being a dang good calf. Thanks for all the comments, I'm really happy with the way this calf turned out.

If you still have her mother, breed her to wild Turkey or a bull with some set. Your bottom pedigree is nice.

Are Clark's still around?  You will be hard pressed to find a pedigree like that on the bottom.

Knabe, I still have her, it's hard to keep weight on her and its making it hard to breed back because she puts Everthing in to the calf. And I'm not sure if the Clark's are still around. Thank you for the comments.

What do y'all think of her now? This picture was shot last night coming on strong!
