There was a story on the news tonight about a local newborn baby who is receiving a new heart from another dying newborn. I was wondering who is an organ donor? I am and think it is a very important thing to do. DO ON TO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE DONE ON TO YOU.

This is a very personal and sensitive issue for some.  I am an organ donor and feel very strongly about it.  I lost my father to a work related accident 5 years ago and he was able to provide organs to others!  We felt that was the least we could do to honor his requests and help others that still had life ahead of them.  That was enough for us at the time.  Just shortly after our first holidays without him, we received a letter from a women that was able to celebrate Christmas with her family and had a new lease on life!!  What a bonus!  Daddy would be proud to be able to help someone else, that is what he did best.  Consider it as a gift to others and to your family.

i had a cousin who was involved in an automobile accident and suffered severe brain injury...she was declared brain dead but left on life support for 2 days so that arrangements could be made for donating her organs...it was very hard those 2 days, knowing what was coming...but her donated organs ended up saving 5 other people...
after this happened, i think just about everyone in my family became a donor if they werent already one...

I am a organ donor and would like to encourage  PPL to consider being on the bone marrow donor list. You can give again & again on this list. I hate to think of kids being lost B/C there isn't  a match for bone marrow in the system. Please consider being tested and put in the system. Brent

My family has never really been big on organ doning, until it hit home. My grandfather was on the news here in OH several times for being one of the only people in the midwest with a "heart pump", it actuall was an external unit that acted as the left side of his heart and was battery operated and had a tube going into his body...what a pain. Once he was cancer free for long enough and was able to get on the list, he got his new heart in less than 3 days. My mother is now a donor, and when I renew my license in July I may do the same.

I am a donor as is the rest of my family including my kids.  I guess I take the old saying "you can't take it with you" literally!  LOL.
