I haven't leased any land for pasture in thirty years. What is a reasonable rate to pay to lease a small farm to put 15 cows and calves? Thanks for your input.

That is a difficult question to answer. According to Drovers, pasture rent varied from $128/acre in Snohomish County, Washington to $0.60/acre in Culberson County, Texas. Average rent for 2017 was $12.50/acre, but average is likely not what you will pay. Drovers has a map that shows average rent prices by county. It's in price/acre and I usually pay by cow/calf head, but it is a good starting point.

I live in Nebraska and the best source of information for me is through our University of Nebraska Extension Service. They break down rent prices by region and that is what I use to negotiate with.
