You can google it for how to measure and available equipment to do so.
I would like to have the measurements done at 12 months. I was always told that an area of 160 or greater was good for a yearling bull. iowabeefcenter.org has a pretty good article about pelvic measurements explaining what AJ said about age being a factor as well as sex. I just would like to know the yearling measurement of a bull when buying.

After reading this thread, I thought I would measure our two show heifers since I was getting health work done at the vets anyway.

These are both 10 months old and sired by Moto Moto and are Fullblood Galloway heifer calves.  They weigh about 750 lbs. They both came out at 196 square cm.  One was 14 X 14 and the other was 13.5 X 14.5.  They had actual BW of 70 and 72 lbs.

I was very happy with those results.

So it was measured in centimeters. I didn't really know if it was inches or centimeters.

We had one that was 11.5 x 11 that the vet said cull. The largest number was 15 x 12,  14.5 x 13, 14.5 x 12.5. This was at 9 months.
