There is a rumor that they are trying to set up a line for grass fed beef. I think in theory its a good idea. Selling a specialized product instead of just a commodity.

Tyson Foods (one of the big four packers) asked Cactus Feeders to help them create a source for a domestic (made in the USA), grass-finished beef product.  This product will be distributed through Walmart.  Walmart wants a consistent, high-quality product to compete with Amazon who recently purchased Whole Foods.

Real Commercial genetics very good ideas and presentation-I particularlyAGREE WITH HIS IDEAS ON HYBRID VIGOR-pretty clear his cattle are very strong examples-really impressive REAL WORLD  numbers-Bet some of that red angusxangus or some of his others would work on the grass fed Shorthorns and there are some around.-The Angusses- Herefords and  composites etc would add MUCH needed doability and moderate maybe the "occasional" BW issues-On the Shorthorn end. This type of cross would probably help create the best overall marbled- sheer test yatta yatta beef available ANYWHERE-Thought maybe throwing in a touch of Wagu in  on the Shorthorn side  or what I keep thinking about for no apparent scientific reason-ShorthornxMurry Gray-which in terms of yield grades are: number 1 best ever recorded- (Murry Gray) and right up there (Shorthorns) with the Grays being ShorthornxAngus to begin with. -All we need now is not to run out of grass-the Gulf Stream-Weather Patterns etc are shifting and it is pretty clear things are changing rapidly. Waukaru hands down has some of the most documented cattle there are-wonder if some of thier customers are approaching this market too O0
