Just wondering  everyone's thoughts on photo editing software. I know Photo Shop is the mainstay of the photo editing world.  I have a Mac and am wondering if there is a more reasonable photo editing program out there on a Mac platform.  iPhoto is great for the minor adjustments and photo management.  Need something with the clone paint brush to take off the halters but don't want to spend hundreds of $$ on Photo Shop CS4.
Any ideas or advice?
Thanks!

You can do a search for GIMP on google. I love Photoshop CS4 tho..as with all of the Adobe suites programs.

If you are going to be doing any major editing work then go ahead and spend the extra money and get the latest edition of Photoshop (currently CS4, but CS5 will be out within the year0, but if youa re just going to be doing some minor things like removing halters, you can get by the Photoshop Elements. I started off with Elements and upgraded to CS4 Extended when I started to get more serious into photo editing and ad design. The Elements software has all the basic features of the pro versions, but is a lot more basic and sometimes limiting compared to the higher level programs.

Go to ebay or amazon and buy the old Photoshop 2....simple, cheap and all you'll probably need.
