It's been -30 or colder here for almost 3 weeks without a break so I haven't accomplished much other than taking some pictures.  The cows and calves seem happy regardless of the weather.

  Those are some impressive calves for being that young and those conditions. Wide made and stout, very nice.

Thanks guys.  They are all purebred Angus calves.  Pretty proud of the group.  Most of them are off of home raised sires this year, NYK MacGyver 5C and NYK Graceland 39B.  Also walked a MOGCK Bullseye son.

Mark - I appreciate that.  We just breed the kind we like and they are what they are.  I prefer cattle with a bit of bone and hip in them.  I try to avoid much of the show blood or the hardcore calving ease (like -2 bw and down) stuff.  Our weather and market demands a bit more substance to the cattle.  For example, the 16E calf pictured above has me really excited.  A couple of generations of home bred cattle coming together and he's a tank.  Thickest and deepest calf I've had at his age.  Dam and sire below.
