Does anyone have any first hand experience with Trademark?  I like the twist on that pedigree- Trademark originated at my neighbors, I raise Shorthorns- and love the Vortecs I have seen, and the 6807's were awefully good Angus cattle...  And does anyone know if the 6807 dtr was a purebred Angus?

This is an interesting bull, IMO atleast on paper... then throw in that he's on the verdge of triple crown'n it!

Most of the Trademarks I have been around have been sound, soft, and plenty stout, both bulls and females.  Some have a little extra leather up front, but nothing out of the ordinary for a simmi.  The 6807 cow is a purebred.  I know the person who bred and raised the Trendsetter, and when he told me what kind of cow he was out of, i was a little shocked myself until i found out where she came from.

there is no way the eyes on the storm bull is going to be big enough. unless you breed him to a giraffe.

i disagree and you would too if you saw him in person instead of making a comment like that after seeing a video

If I were going to Denver I would be most interested in seeing this critter.  He is a maternal brother to Striker with a better BWEPD.  Semen is available through PVF.

to those of you that have negative comments yur entitled to yur opinion but until u raise a denver display bull then you can get real critical.

how old are your gonnet?  as 'pro' as you think you are, you are missing the use of some professional tactics. if I had to guess your age by your attitude, I'd think 17-19.  If I had to guess your age by what you've done, I'd think early 30s. That right there is the definition of immaturity.  If you want to be as 'big' as your think you're going to be, you will probably learn from big players like robinson, derouchey, yardley, griswold, hartman, even barry hall and brian brown, that there is a time to say something and a time to keep your mouth shut.  Loose lips sink ships.  Loose doesn't always have to mean spilling your guts.

I agree exactly with ghostrider:

Please don't take this wrong, but anytime you promote a bull (or anything else), you're opening him up for public commentary.  If you can't take the negative along with the positive, I think you might have a long month ahead of you.  And as far as having to have raised a Denver display bull before you have the right to be critical... Just because one's been displayed in Denver doesn't make him great, and just because you've raised one of those, that doesn't make you smarter or more entitled to an opinion than the people you're trying to market them to.  Telling them it does won't sell much semen, IMO.

I wish you a good and succesful trip to Denver.

if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen, or atleast go cook over your own fire.  Jill and some others also hit the nail on the head about your attitude.

as for bull quality and for 'until u raise a denver display bull then you can get real critical', I agree with Dusty:

What is the dud rate on display bulls? 80%?

Seeing as most of them have nuts that look like 2 marbles in a hanky..i think 80% would be conversative...

steerjockey, best of luck to you in denver, my boy.

He looks like he could be anywhere from 40 to 45 inches tall at the top of the tail head in the video. (just judging by the heighth of the fence). Then you have to take into account as to when this video was taken? Maybe mid to late fall is what I'm guessing. So yes I think he'll be a bit on the smaller size, but there are lots of cows out there that need downsizing and he would probaly work great for those situations. I would personally like to see more length on him, but thats jmo. You cant judge a book by its cover though. I think the best time to judge him will be when his first calves hit the ground.

One thing for sure is that the display bulls will create a lot of discussions - and we cow people all have our opinions which makes it so fun and something to look forward to every year, while knowing that probably 90% don't make it for a variety of reasons not the least of which is being able to produce freezable semen with such small equipment - for the most part the folks that have display bulls there every year just have it in the blood or have made a business out of it and are great promoters of what is sometimes just a bull that was not good enough to make a good steer, which some of them there are - but you have to give them their due for being good at it - and then there are those others that have "the dream" and would be better off buying lottery tickets - reading this thread made me think about previous years and the bulls that I thought would "make it" - don't remember many of them now as they are long gone - however some of the ones that I do remember that I did not like are bulls like Who Made Who, Foreplay, and I thought that Heat Wave was so-so and that there were several others there that year that would make a bigger mark - the list goes on and on and I am certain that others have bulls in mind that the did not like and others that were "can't miss" - for me this year I would be looking for that changer in terms of type, breeding or whatever that will make a mark like some of the bulls that come to mind that are the legends - so many of the  bulls there are kind of redundant breeding - and he might not be there this year -

i wasnt being disrespectful to the person that bred the bull or to the new owner, but this is open to discussion and i did give my opinion, sorry if it offended you but i dont like small cattle. there is a place for them, not for me.

Glenstory, the PVF Windfall bull sure looks to be complete. His BW EPD is a little lower than Stryker's, but not too much. I had been looking @ Windfall's sire PVF All Payday lately. They'll be 2 bulls that I will be watching.

It seems the Website God didn't like my comment.

I guess it's true that it will be hanging above the bull and I can see for myself, but these are often used in advertising of some sort and not everyone will see the bull or a different picture.  I have seen it before with straight pasterns and covering them up in the next ad.

Are we supposed to be nothing but positive?  I've done this for some time and I find often find you reach a better conclusion by be more critical than not.  Unfortunately, there are a staggering number of crooks in this business.

By the way, I actually love the bull and may breed him to a hundred this year.

Sorry I probably could have done this the first time
Is there a reason half of this bull is covered up by his name?  Big fronted? Straight?  I'll find out in a couple weeks.
