This poor girl is not due until next Monday, 2/4, at the earliest.  Her third breeding makes her due on 2/8.  Her belly drags the ground; she has trouble going outside because she high centers on the door thresholds.   How many puppies do you think that she will have?

No,  this is her third litter.  we didn't own her for her first.  She had four ittie bitties last time by a different stud.

Our vet promised a refund if he misses by three or more based upon the x-ray.  I'm not telling his guess until she pops.  All three vets and the techs were wagering on this.

Back in the early 80's when show pigs were in the toad stage, where they are now probably headed toward again, I saw a very small framed bred gilt that looked about this bad.

What do doxie puppies usually weigh at birth?  I'm a horrible litter size guesser.  I'd say you have 3 or 4 giant puppies or at least 8 small/normal size puppies.  I really have no clue!

My corgi had 11 puppies and she didn't look that pregnant - we only counted 8 puppies on her xray.

I voted 9.  One thing about doxies, they are l-o-n-g so have room to cary large litters that other smaller dogs don't have.  She looks HUGE and so low to the ground - even for a Doxie.  If I were there, I'd be holding her paw!  No wonder she high-centers!  :p :p :p

Clockwise starting at 12 o'clock: Chocolate & Tan Female, Dapple Piebald Female, Dapple Piebald Male, Black & Tan Female, Black & Tan Female, Chocolate Piebald Male, Chocolate Piebald Male, Black & Tan Female, Black & Tan Male and Chocolate & Tan Female.

That's right TEN!

Those of you that said "10" let's here about it.

Show us the "After" pictures. I'll bet she's relieved to be free of all that fluid and extra weight.

Amen, garybob!  I'm thinking that the fluid was long used up and she was pretty much all puppy in the last 24 hrs!  They look so good - fat and shiney!  And, what an array of colors!  What color was 'daddy'?

OK guys, I was just funnin'.  Koko only had six.  The Choc/Tan @ 12o'clock and counter-clockwise to the Choc Pies were hers.  the other four belong to a B/T dapple female that whelped Friday.  unfortunately their momma, Angel, required cesarean.  We now know that before we bought her she had to have a cesarean but had no noticeable external scar.  For DL, it was noticeable once he got inside, no white line.  this cesarean was a mess because of all the adhesion.  our vet doesn't like to but he decided to go ahead and spay her as a result of the adhesion.  All babies are well and mommas are stressed but recovering.

Sorry folks, that picture was just too good to not share.

Both litters are sired by our champion pedigreed long-hair B/T that carries English Cream and Piebald.  He is beautiful and probably would have championed out himself; but we aren't up for paying handlers.

I'll have to talk to the photographer.  I'm not allowed to touch the camera unless she tells me to!

wow! I didn't know they came in so many colors! What is the average asking price for a puppy? Not wanting one but just curious.
