Actually, even though there were some really nice cattle in Denver, there wasn't much new in pedigrees. A lot of followers not many innovators.

The most interesting pedigree was the Grand Champion steer.

There were some nice lookouts but use him with caution.  As I've been through some pastures it looks like for every really good one there are two or three throw-aways.  I just don't see the consistency in him.  But, he is a bull that you can use and hit a home run with.

I've used Lookout an have been very pleased , great heifers, I feel the heifers on a whole are better than the bulls .  We haven't had a heifer that wasn't a keeper , will  proably  moderate the cattle an not add any size but very good disposition .  The right kind of females for me but the goods ones seem to get sold real easy ...

What do you think about his son, Eagle Eye? I think he is a more powerful version of his Daddy. Any thoughts?

The link below is a current pic and video of BC Eagle Eye done about a month ago.  He was brought up out of the pasture from breeding cows, washed and we did this video and picture and he was put back out in the breeding picture.  No supplemental feed or anything, just running on grass at Werners.

I've got 2 bull calves out of Eagle Eye...very impressed with them so far!  Lots of volume and muscle, really good performance, and a really good look to them.  Very happy so far!  I think they will have some more performance than Lookout, and they aren't too small at this point.  Don't have any good pics yet of them, but hope to shortly down the road.  My only caution is perhaps using hiim on heifers...ours were a bit bigger out of cows, but they were also overdue 7 days as well.

Will do Jeff!  One is a maternal brother to the Top Gun bull pictured on our website...should be the heaviest weaning weight bull of the crop come Sept 1st.  The other is a really cool, clubby made one out of a Famous X Krugerand cow.  He could really sire some steers I think, as he has a super big hip and cool fronted.  Not quite as deep as the other but still certainly acceptable!!

That is a really good video of an honest made bull in my opinion!!  Makes me feel more confident to go back and use him again next year.  Had planned to this year, but bred the cows to my herd bull, Top Shelf, and just AI'd the heifers instead.  What would you guesstimate his mature frame score to be??  Doesn't look like a little pud...  ;D

Yes he is a nice bull but what about his back wheels. You could not say he glides along very short stepping and back on his pastens. Could he walk far to cover cows.

We had to wait on him to get done breeding one in a large pasture to bring him in to take the video, so my answer to that would be yes, he has no problems moving and covering plenty of ground.
