I have some friends that worked for contractors that handled the cleanup after all of that mess was over.  Some interesting facts:

Do you remember seeing the water tower on the facility?  It had no water in it.  It was a reinforced sniper tower.

That place had underground tunnels not unlike those built in Viet Nam.

They were not good people in any way fashion or form.  The only mistake our government made was in underestimating how crazy they really were and not realizing we needed a military operation to take them out - not a police raid.  Bad, bad things happened to little kids in that place.

hwy 31 splits off of hwy 84 about 10 miles east. it is confusing.

There are some pretty damn sick people in this world that will stop at nothing to defend what is wrong.

On a much lighter note, anybody in the area got any $25,000 2009 fall born steers that they'd like to sacrifice for $1000??? ;D If so, I'd sure like to make time to come look!!

Most of those $25,000 steers start out a little cheaper in your part of the world and then increase as they move south toward us.

We're probably a little too far west of 35 to be worth your trouble on this trip (about an hour west of it), but you'd always be welcome to stop by if you are ever heading up Hwy 287.

I don't really know any breeders with calves real close to 35 between the Red River and Waco.

I was just kidding ;).....too early to try to cipher through all the calves right now anyway, and I'm sure my wife and kids wouldn't want to spend time in Texas looking at club calves for next year in the middle of October.

Just thought I'd let you guys know, we left home Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. We stopped in OKC at noon and had a bite to eat. We then continued south. Hit Denton at right about 4:00 p.m. It then took us an hour and a half to make it to the south side of Ft. Worth. Stop and go...stop and go. Checked in at the hotel at Hillsboro at 6:30, dropped our stuff off, and headed for Waco. (clapping) We drove around the campus for a bit and then ate at La Fiesta by the stadium...it was ok. Then back to Hillsboro for the night. My wife then gets sick over the night, and my son kept kicking me in bed. The next morning, we headed back to Waco, and made it to the stadium about 9:00, 2 1/2 hours before kickoff. I was shocked that we were able to park right outside the stadium for $10.00. It was very much like a high school atmosphere, rather than a college one. No tailgating to speak of, and very little school spirit. The stadium was really neat though. Got a nice sun burn. After the game we decided to bypass another night, and headed back for home. My head hit the pillow at 11:00 p.m. in my own bed!!! (clapping)
