Rain Rain go away!!!!

After a little more than 24 hours, we ended up with anywhere from 5 to 9 inches of rain.  Needless to say it is a mess everywhere.  I have a stream running through my pasture which looks like the mississippi now and took out a bunch of fence.  The crops looked real good but now the fields are saturated.  If this is what this winter is going to be like god help us.  Anyone else getting their butt kicked by mother nature?

I was at the movies and got a call to stop by my sisters to pick up the shop vac. My basement room had standing water in it. So now I guess we get new carpet in our basement.

We got about 7 inches.  There's water everywhere, roads closed, all that fun stuff.  We got lucky at our house and didn't have any problems.

Here in Central Indiana we had about 14" of rain in early June and have had 6 tenths since.  Field fires and combines on fire on a daily basis creeks are all dry and been watering cows since about Agust 1st.  Put out hay this year on August 15th and the last 2 years we didn't start feeding hay until January 1st.

here in south central South Dakota, we have had an overwhelming amount of rain for almost a year now; lots of acres did not get planted, cause the ground never did dry out enough to get into it.
hope and pray this does not last into winter, but they say it will.

Here in Saskatchewan, we have had an unusually wet year. Very hard to put hay up, and even harder to harvest. We have had about 12 inches in the past 3 weeks which is our annual average precipitation. Some areas are now at 43 inches since May... most unusual for our area. I spoke with a farmer who lives 200 miles north of me, and he farms between two lakes that are 10 miles apart. He said that if it did not rain again for many years, he will never seed a crop on part of his farm in his lifetime.

I am hoping the weatherman is going to be right at least once this year. Right now, the forecast is for above normal temperatures for the entire month of October and very little rain. But to me, that also sounds like thundershowers forming when it is this wet.

We got 5" at out place in SE Minnesota last thursday.  Folks 30 miles north of us got a lot more.  We just have mud.  They had a lot of flooding and damage.  Sun is out today tho and looks nice for the next week!  Hope so. Our sale calves look a little rough right now.  Hope to get them cleaned up this week in case we have some visitors before our online sale next weekend.

it has finally rained here!!!!!  the creeks arent running, but at least the dust is settled!  still watering cows on pasture though...

Finally the wet weather has left here. Warm sunny days with some drying west winds so the swathing and combining is getting into full gear.
Let's hope it lasts for a few weeks.

14 inches of rain just north of us. Had some calves drowned and trying to figure out if we lost any cows.

We are 6 inches behind for the year in south west Ohio.  From what I have heard most of the people around has had corn in the 13-14% moisture range straight out of the field.
